Suddenly on September 29, 2026. Beloved husband and soulmate for 29 years to Mindy. Loving and devoted father to Ryan, Lauren, and Jayme. Cherished son of Linda and the late Sigmund (Siggy), and amazing son-in-law to Arnold and Thea Wasser. Older brother to Michael, and brother-in-law to Leah, Helaine, and Nessa (Charles). An amazing dog dad to Miley, supportive uncle, great uncle (gruncle), friend, dance dad, chef, and gadget guru extraordinaire.
Words cannot fully express what a true mensch Ilan was and the absolute void that his passing has left. Ilan always offered a helping hand, and was known as Mr. Fix-it to family members, friends, neighbours and strangers. An Information Technologist by profession, Ilan was so much more than that. Ilan and Mindy first met at Douglas Snow Aquatic Centre in their early 20s, but his passion for helping others was a constant theme throughout his whole life. Whether it was being a ski patrol officer, a lifesaving and swim instructor, dance dad with extraordinary enthusiasm or the family party organizer, Ilan always jumped right in and took on every single detail. His passion was never unnoticed.
Ilan's greatest joy was his family. His family always came first and his greatest joy was when he and Mindy became parents. Ryan, Lauren and Jayme's accomplishments and the amazing humans they have become will forever be his legacy.
